Welcome to Kite Center Sri Lanka, I am Mike Johnson. Together with my team of professional IKO kite instructors I am managing the no. 1 kite school Sri Lanka on one of the windiest and best kite spots in Sri Lanka. We are right at the beach on the sandbank between the Indian ocean and the famous Kappalady flatwater lagoon near Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka. Our main kitesurf season Sri Lanka starts in May and goes all the way through mid of October. Our winter kitesurf season Sri Lanka runs from December through end of March. In summer, the wind is reaching 20-30kts most often and is blowing day and night. You'll be hard pressed to find better wind statistics Sri Lanka anywhere else in the world. However, don’t go too strong on your first day, take it easy since there is lots of wind for you to progress and enjoy.

Our kite school Sri Lanka is equipped with top kite gear and is located at one of the best kite spots in Sri Lanka – on a sandbank at the beach, between the Indian ocean and the famous flat water lagoon of Kappalady. We are the official kite school in Sri Lanka, approved by the Sri Lankan Board of Tourism. Besides kitesurfing and together with Elements Resort, we offer various leisure activities such as Standup Paddling (SUP), Yoga, Ayurveda, Dolphin-watching and scuba diving.
