That expertise can only come from passionate commitment to mango.

Founder of Nelna, Mr. W G E G Nanayakkara, declared his commitment to mango in 2005 as a business diversification strategy from his core business of integrated poultry business, which is well established in Sri Lanka.

Today, nearly ten years on, Nelna Agri Development (Pvt) Ltd is the largest mango plantation in Sri Lanka, spreads over 650 acres of land in the intermediary and dry zones in Sri Lanka.



Nelna Mango is the world’s biggest, juiciest mango! And is unique to
Sri Lanka. The average weight of a fruit is approximately 600g.

The first generation of this verity was introduced to Sri Lanka from Australia in 1980s and subsequently developed in Sri Lanka to create this unique mango.
Nelna Mango is a beautiful golden orange fruit with an unblemished skin. It has excellent sweet flavor, low fiber content and silky smooth flesh.
The fruit ripens slowly giving time for the produce to reach international market destinations.
The excellent red loamy soil and ideal weather conditions in our plantations helps to bring out the wonderfully unique flavor and rich color to the Nelna Mango which are key demands from international markets.
